Let me be Yours
Twenty years ago, my friend Teddy Brodersen lost the love of his life. He didn't know how to put words on what he was feeling. And English wasn't his strong suit. But I was there. I watched him go through it. So I became the words he couldn't find ā I wrote lyrics that captured what was in his heart, and he sang them. That was our thing. Teddy would live it, I'd write it, he'd sing it. We recorded everything, always planning to release it "someday." Then Teddy passed away. And his voice ā singing his own heartbreak in words I gave him ā sat untouched for two decades. Recently, my friend Kactuz and I started producing again. And I thought: Teddy's story never got heard. His voice is still on those tracks. Why am I letting it stay silent? So we rebuilt "Let Me Be Yours" from the ground up. Modern melodic techno, big drops ā but that's still Teddy singing. Still his story. Still begging for her back in words he couldn't find on his own. This is the first single. More of Teddy's songs are coming. š§ [Spotify link] I'd love any feedback. But really, I just want people to finally hear my friend.
